Before we left Florence we wanted to do a Focaccia focussed lunch. Verrazzano is perfect place for such a lunch. You can do a quick one at the bar or you can sit down at a table and enjoy a more relaxed one.
As you step in you can spot the various seasonal focacce on display. You can choose the ones you want and they will reheat them for you. They also make Cecina, which is a ligurian specialty made with chickpea flour. It is smooth and creamy and perfect when right out of the oven.
Once you order the various Focacce, they arrive wonderfully presented on an elevated wooden board. The one with arugula had the arugula wilted when we had picked it and tasted divine with garlic and hint of chili peppers. So was the cecina delightful. With a side of sparkling wine, this makes a perfect lunch.
