What a fantastic lunch Cotogna was. This is not very pricey for the area and for the food. We had some of the best bread and handmade pasta here, one that was remarkable and we still remember fondly.
The seating is a bit tight but has a wonderful casual vibe and the oven catches your attention as you enter.
We ordered focaccia and it came warm and was light to lift and airy. The chili set your tongue wagging and it was so good we ordered another one.
The fusili with peas and strawberry was interesting but did not hit the spot. The produce was fantastic but the dish overall was alright for us, especially the fusili. However we knew this cant beat the house made pastas that we were about to be treated to.
The sweet corn triangoli was delicious and subtle and luxurious. It was silken and delicate making use of seasons lovely produce and celebrating it by doing justice to the flavors. This is some of the best past we have had this year.
And to treat us with luxury further was the Raviolo. This was made really well with thin ravioli sheets and with decadent brown butter and parmigianno spread over it.
As we cut it the perfectly cooked runny yolk mixed in with the brown butter making a luxurious sauce and we wiped this clean with bread and when the bread was done i would have literally licked this up! Must order if you go. Our excitement did convinve the table next to us to do so and they were n0ot disappointed either π
