Walking in a lane near Mercato Centrale we could smell a delicious aroma of baking. We walked into this little bakery not knowing what to buy.

​​we asked the lady at the counter, what should we buy. She replied we should buy their various biscotti and she offered us some to try.

I asked her if biscotti is same as cantucci and she grinned, yes it is. It is biscotti for the americanos.  I also tried the cantucci and realized they were pleasantly chewy and soft on the inside. She informed us this was their speciality. 

This made a great gift to take back home and she packed us perfect mixed variety packages. Again the smiling faces of Florence and their hospitality remind us what a friendly city Florence is and filled with great people.
