Mourad was a fantastic dining experience. We had reserved ahead of time, however the table we got was upstairs and quite dark. We were a bit disappointed but the food made up for it. If you decide to go, do request to sit downstairs which seemed much more nicer.
We decided to order a la carte and decided to share the chicken. The chicken was absolutely fantastic, juicy and caramelized.
The chicken comes with sides or couscous, kale, potato and heirloom beans. The couscous is a home run here. next time will order this couscous on its own and with some chicken with the preserved lemon this is heavenly.
We did order the couscous with roasted vegetables, however the simple couscous we got on the side, seasoned with brown butter seemed to beat this one for us. Guess there is magic in simplicity.
For dessert we ordered a chocolate one and the mandarin.
The mandarin which was a mousse with mandarin glaze was a winner. Absolutely fantastic and fleeting and light. It was sprinkled with orange blossom letting your feel the aroma before eating and one felt like being in an orange orchard.
