Procacci is a shop known for its little truffle sandwiches which are the size of a couple of bites. The ambience is clean with wine bottles line around the wall. There are only a few crowded high chairs at a couple of tables. The little bar can accommodate a few more.
If you mention you would like to eat they would help you with a table and take your order. The sandwiches are on display in a glass case. Since this place is so famous for the truffle sandwiches we ordered them along with the foie gras ones. Honestly after our truffle experience in san miniato we were not blown away by the sandwich. Same with the foie gras after our experience in alsace the week before. However we must admit the wine we were served to go with them was quite good. The fun part of florence is you can make conversation with strangers and we offered the rest of the table to a couple who were also hoping to sit and eat. This made for a pleasant company as we dug into our little bites.
What is absolutely worth on the menu though is the fresh pasta in butter sauce that is topped with shaved truffles, in this case we ordered black. if you have not had a chance to taste truffles while in florence this place is a quick and accessible way to do it without needing a special occasion.
